Plane crazy

I should explain my avatar. It's a Hawker Sea Fury, the last prop fighter used by the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy. Not many were made because they first flew after World War II was over and the Jet Age had already arrived. Despite being a prop plane, the Sea Fury is very fast, which is why they're used on the air racing circuit.

I love planes and I love flying. I studied mechanical engineering in college because I wanted to build airplanes. I have a student pilot's certificate, though I haven't followed up on it to get my private pilot's license. Flying in a general aviation plane is totally different from riding in a commercial jetliner. A commercial jetliner is like riding the bus, though I suppose it's a very different experience for the crew in the front. A general aviation plane is like your own personal car. You can choose your route. You're much closer to the ground and going slower, so you can see more, or go back around, if you want to see it again. Besides, who can resist this?
