Anniversaries

Today is the 60th anniversary of the B-29 bomber Enola Gay dropping the atomic device Little Boy on the city of Hiroshima. Between 60,000 and 80,000 immediately died in the blast, which was between 12 and 18 kilotons. However, well over 200,000 died as a result of Little Boy. Today is also the 40th anniversary of President Johnson signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965 into law.
