This ain't murderball

Kern County Sheriff's Department is harsh. Their cars say, We'll Kick Your Ass. They beat inmates in custody to death. A Deputy Public Defender in Kern County saw his client, a wheelchair-bound paraplegic, had to climb up the stairs on his belly, to get to the witness interview room. The Sheriff's Deputies did nothing to help. The Deputies would not allow another inmate to help him up the two flights of stairs either. I don't know if the American with Disabilities Act applies to correctional facilities, but I remember reading how the City Council wanted a strip club to have a handicapped ramp to the stage, so the club wouldn't discriminate against handicapped dancer. Of course, it was harassing the strip club. Non-existant disabled strippers are more important than actual disabled inmates.

BTW, I've noticed that due to American Disabilities Act enforcement in some cities, restrooms in stores are being closed because they're not handicap-accessible. Rather than making them handicap-accessible in compliance with the law, stores will choose to not let anyone use their restrooms. It's pretty damn inconvenient when you're loitering in a Barnes & Noble, slogging through Atlas Shrugged, have downed several large lattes, and have nowhere to go. Of course, you could avoid reading Atlas Shrugged in the first place.
