Booyah!

Tonight, a woman paid me the greatest compliment I've ever received. She said I would make a good speechwriter. She probably doesn't realize how much that means to me. I love oratory. I love rhetoric. I love words. Whole houses will be lifted upwards with words. OK, maybe not. But I really do admire people who can craft words, and I really mean that with all the pretensions. It may come from watching too much Sports Night or too much West Wing, or reading really good prose like John F. Kennedy's speeches by Ted Sorenson. Yes, I want the power to stir men's souls. OK, so this post isn't proof that I'm good at writing. And I'm not. But I sure love people who can use their tongue better than a ten-dollar whore. And I never imagined being one of them.
